Nickelodeon Encouraging Kids to Get Off Discount Rugs
In an effort to make good and keep its promise, the Nickelodeon network is going “off the air” on Saturday. It’s hoping kids will get off their discount rugs and go outside to play. Three hours of dead air space on the children’s network will begin at noon (EDT/PDT). It’s part of the Fourth Annual Worldwide Day of Play. Look at it as a type of ”encouragement” for getting kids outside and getting in shape. There’s plenty of time to enjoy these versatile discount rugs after a workout. Later on Saturday, kids can tune into Nickelodeon’s “Let’s Just Play Go Healthy Challenge” (6 p.m. EDT/PDT).  If they have been following the program, and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, they’ll see that kids have made impressive gains by turning off the TV and fighting childhood obesity.
